A Village in Malawi circa 1975, by Wisland Phiri, age 12, Malawi

A beautiful painting that evokes the seeming timelessness of so many African villages, even today. A small mud hut with a thatched roof in the foreground, a smaller structure for storing grain in the background, a man leaning against a tree weaving a basket with a dog at his feet and chickens walking by -- Wisland Phiri perfectly captures the feeling of the place. This painting was created in the 1970s and was on our office wall for more than thirty years. It is a great pleasure to be able to share this image with you.

All our fine-art quality prints are printed with archival ink on acid-free archival paper measuring 13 x 19 inches (22.9 x 29.1 cm). The image is centred on the paper with a plain border surrounding it.
